None of this fits neatly into a fixed weekly visit.

Ask your cleaning provider directly how they handle one-off event cleaning: is it billed as an add-on to the regular contract, and how much notice do they need? A provider who can flex for a funeral scheduled on short notice is more valuable to a congregation than one locked into a rigid weekly-only schedule.

• Expected attendance, since it affects restroom and entryway wear
• Whether food will be served, and where
• Any decor or setup that will need to be cleaned around or removed afterward
• The turnaround window before the next scheduled use of the space

Funerals are, by nature, scheduled on short notice and carry emotional weight that a wedding doesn't. A cleaning provider who understands this — and can turn around a quick, respectful clean before and after a service without requiring weeks of lead time — is worth valuing highly in a contract relationship.

A standing communication channel

The simplest fix is a direct line of communication — a phone number or email a church administrator can use to flag an upcoming special event with enough notice for the cleaning company to plan around it, rather than relying on the regular weekly schedule to somehow absorb an unplanned event.
