A Norwegian Lutheran congregation on County Road 10 in Corcoran has occupied the same building since 1908, with a significant addition in 1964. The original sanctuary has quarter-sawn oak pews, original maple floors beneath carpet that was added in the 1970s, and plaster walls with several areas of settled cracking that require careful attention from cleaning crews to avoid enlarging. The 1964 addition connects to the original sanctuary through a breezeway and has institutional tile throughout.

The scope for this facility is more detailed than a newer building because the surface variety is higher. Original maple floor under the chancel area (the carpet was never extended there) requires wax maintenance on a quarterly cycle. Pew cushions installed in 1982 require upholstery vacuuming, not just surface wiping. Plaster walls are dusted with a soft brush extension rather than a microfiber pad that could catch on settled cracks.

Historic Corcoran facilities are worth the extra scope time. Getting the procedure wrong in a building that has stood for 116 years creates damage that is expensive or impossible to reverse.
